COLLABORATION BETWEENTNU UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY AND WONKWANG UNIVERSITY, KOREA

From 21st to 23rd of April 2017, TNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy (TNU-UMP), in cooperation with Wonkwang University successfully organized a humanitarian medical services program at Phu Ly medical station (Phu Luong, Thai Nguyen). This activity had been planned by the two universities since 2015. It was conducted with the participation of 22 doctors and volunteers of Wonkwang University, Korea and 07 doctors from TNU- UMP.

The program provided free medical treatment and services regarding Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Odonto stomatology and general ultrasound for over 500 disadvantaged people in Phu Luong. Through that activity, the experience of  providing community-based health services was  shared among the doctors of two universities. This was a very meaningful activity for local people that contributed significantly to strengthen the cooperation between the two universities.

Right after their volunteer work at Phu Luong, the  President  of Wonkwang University and the volunteer group visited and worked with TNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy on April 24th, 2017. During the visit, the President of Wonkwang University and the Rector of TNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy signed a Memorandum of Understanding to concretize activities  in  the  coming time.
