The article focused on analysing some theoretical issues about educational consultants' academic consulting skills under credit-based system at Universities including the definition of educational consultant and the definition of academic consulting skill. Besides, it also analysed four basic academic consulting skills which were ones related to consulting students to design study plan, giving career advice to students. conselling students in scientific research and helping students to find the suitable learning methodology under credit-based system. The article content would be the basic theory for making a research on the current situation of educational consultants' academic consulting skills at Univesities. Basing on this, methods of educational psychology were proposed in order to develop academic consulting skills for educational consultants at Universities.
