Department for International Development (DFID) offers Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for Masters Students in UK. All courses undertaken must be demonstrably relevant to the economic, social or technological development of the candidate’s home country. Awards are available at participating institutions in the UK only. A grant of up to £225 to cover thesis (Master’s) costs is available; also available is £200 for study travel. The cost of up to 10 Kilograms of excess baggage (books only) is available for scholars returning home at the end of their awards. The application deadline is 16th April 2014

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation offers Government scholarships for international students. The scholarships are available for postgraduate and training programme. Scholarships are for studies in Russian educational institutions of higher education at the expense of federal budget allocations in an academic year 2014/2015. Foreign nationals studying in final year in the Russian educational institutions who wish to continue their studies at the next level of education should be included in the total quota of the country. The scholarships provide them with free accommodation in a residential area in the hostels of educational institutions. Application should be submitted till March 15, 2014

University of Auckland is offering PhD engineering scholarship for Vietnamese students. The Scholarship will have an annual value of up to $7,500 for up to four years; up to $5,000 will be paid as a tuition fees credit and up to $2,500 as a stipend. The Scholarship’s continuation for a second and subsequent year will be subject to the Scholarship recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress. The basis of selection will be academic achievement, financial need and suitability of the proposed study in New Zealand. The application deadline is 1 May 2014.

Applications are invited for residential scholarships in London for the September 2014 intake. Students should be from a developing or emerging country and intending to return on completion of their studies. Preference will be given to postgraduate students who are studying a course that will provide skills to assist in the development of their home country. Scholarships provide free accommodation at ISH for up to a year and in exceptional circumstances up to three years. Applications should be submitted till May 31st 2014.

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is awarding eight prizes of USD 15,000 each to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least ten years. Each prize is accompanied by a medal. Nominations of women scientists are particularly encouraged. Applications are invited for Beijing government scholarships from international students studying or applying for studying in Beijing. Duration differs with respect to the subjects chosen. It takes around 4 to 5 years for undergraduates, 2 to 3 years for Masters degree candidates and 3 years for PhD degree candidates. The duration varies for Chinese language students, general scholar candidates and senior scholar candidates. An applicant receives financial support from other Chinese government scholarship programs or organizations/agencies would not be eligible for the Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship.

University of Kent is offering taught masters overseas scholarships for international students who are liable to pay overseas students’ fees. Two overseas scholarships will be awarded for pursuing LLM programmes at the Canterbury campus. The first scholarship will provide tuition fees at the full overseas rate along with living expenses.
