TNU STUDENT WINS THIRD PRIZE IN FAMELAB VIETNAM 2017

Trinh Ba Thong, student of TNU University of Education, won third prize in the FameLab Vietnam 2017, a communications contest for young talents nationwide. The contest covers science, technology and engineering concepts which run-down into three-minute presentations.

The nationwide contest was organized by the British Council in Vietnam, the Vietnam National University in Hanoi, and Euraxess, FameLab required the participants to make a three-minute presentation on any interested topic in science, engineering, mathematics and medicine. The judges of the contest were Professor Mai Trong Nhuan, journalist Ta Bich  Loan, and Associate Professor Le Anh Vinh.

Notably, MSc. Hoang Tien Dat, a lecturer from TNU University of Technology, gained the People Choice’s Award at the contest. This year, Thai Nguyen University official joined the Famelab as organizer of the preliminary round in the Northern midland and mountainous region.

FameLab, which was launched in UK in 2005, has quickly turned out to be a successful training program for identifying, training and mentoring scientists and engineers to share their enthusiasm for their subjects. The Cheltenham Science Festival has cooperated with the British Council to host the contest in over 30 countries.
