3D Computer Vision Scholarship for UK/EU and Overseas Students in UK, 2014

Applications are invited for a full-time PhD scholarship within the Bristol Robotics Laboratory and the Faculty of Environment and Technology, University of the West of England. Applicants should hold a first or upper second class honours degree in computing, physical sciences or engineering. The scholarship consists of an annual maintenance bursary of £13,726, subject to satisfactory progress, for up to three years. The closing date for applications is 3 February 2014

Scholarship Description: The Graduate School is offering a funded full-time PhD studentship in 3D computer vision, in the Centre for Machine Vision (CMV) within the Bristol Robotics Laboratory and the Faculty of Environment and Technology. This PhD studentship will provide the opportunity for a motivated and capable individual to generate new knowledge regarding the capture and automated assessment of physical attributes and behaviour, important in animal welfare, using the latest techniques in 3D data capture, modelling and analysis.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for up to three years.

What does it cover? The scholarship is available from 1 April 2014 and consists of an annual maintenance bursary of £13,726, subject to satisfactory progress, for up to three years. In addition, full-time tuition fees will be covered for three years (Home/EU rates only). Overseas applicants will be required to cover the difference between the Home/EU and the overseas tuition fee rates (approximately £7,565 per annum).
