During the visit of Minister Phung Xuan Nha to TNU, a meeting was called for. At the outset of the meeting, Assoc. Dr. Tran Viet Khanh - Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Vice President of TNU presented a summary of the results of TNU’s historical  development  for the period of 1994 – 2016, including Strategic Plan for 2021covering the following work items: construction of organizational structure and personnel; education and training; assessment to insure the quality of education; science research and technology transfer; welfares of staff; international cooperation; improvement of facilities, among others.

TNU President Dr. Dang Kim Vui delivers a message during the meeting, with him is the Minister of Education and Training- Phung Xuan Nha.  

During the series of discussion, TNU presented to the Ministry of Education and Training the following issues: that the Thai Nguyen province has to focus on investment in a satisfactory manner to the regional university so that the higher education members in the regional University will have more advantage than other higher education institutions within the province, to wit: providing particular management for regional University in order to attract human resources of high quality, particularly in the management of financial assets; converting the School of Foreign Languages into TNU University of Foreign; transferring TNU College of  Economics and Technical to Ministry of Labour, War invalids and Social Affairs; establishing Quality Inspection Center for regional education; reviewing the plan, supporting land resettlement to clearance; and facilitating and promoting the role and potential of scientific research, technology transfer  of TNU to contribute significantly to provincial socio-economic development.
