MINISTER OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING VISITS TNU
On March 26, Prof. Pham Vu Luan, Minister of Education and Training had a meeting at Thai Nguyen University (TNU) on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training to meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization in conditions of market economy in direction of international integration, to create the radical improvement in the quality of education and training.
Up to now, Vietnam Education Sector has conducted three education reforms with specific goals and measures, and has achieved appreciated results. The Minister said that fundamental changes must focus on some key issues such as the design of programs and organization of new textbooks compilation with the principles of "Highly integrated in the lower grade; and self-selected and highly differentated in the higher grades"; transference from passive learning from teachers to learners to active way from the both sides together, in order to establish the quality and capacity of the new generation of workforce.
More than 20 reviews of the participants mentioned to a number of issues as increasing investment in infrastructure, mobilizing investment resources for education and scientific research, a number of typical branches should have their own policy mechanism as art, physical fitness, updating and publicizing training standards according to nation’s uniform framework and international standards, paying attention to gender equality, etc.
Earlier, the delegation worked with the TNU University of Education, while the Minister emphasized on top priority of comprehensive education reform for pedagogy units.
