DOOR OPENS OPPORTUNITIES OF EMPLOYMENT FOR THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY’S STUDENTS

On May 18th, 2020, having a job after graduation is an important issue with students, their families, universities and the whole society. In recent years, it is difficult for students after graduation as well as students studying in universities. This issue seems to be more and more serious because of the outbreak of Covid - 19. The General Statistics Office recorded that the rate of employment was at the lowest level in the last 10 years with the figure being at 75.4% in the first quarter of 2020.

In this context, the MOTIVE (Monitoring Trends in Vietnamese graduates Employment) sponsored by the Eramus+ program of European Union was launched with the aim is to create more opportunities for Vietnamese student to access the labor market. It attracts more than 16 domestic and international organizations to take part in, including Thai Nguyen University.

The project aims at 4 main objectives:

- To strengthen the capacity for the Vietnamese to release graduate surveys;

- To build-up the capacity for the Vietnamese in exploiting the data of graduates for the adoption of quality assurance measures;

- To increase cooperation between Vietnamese universities and MOET on graduate tracking;

- To reinforce the connection between partner institutions and society on graduate tracking.

MOTIVE project is developed and expanded on the background of the VOYAGE project  “Opportunities for the young and graduates' employability in Vietnam” which created an online platform for organizations to find suitable candidates and graduates to create profiles, find the ideal jobs and submit applications. In addition, universities and training institutions could design learning programs to meet the demand of the labor market.

 

The VOYAGE project attracts three group universities in the Northern region and more than 60 companies in Ha Noi to take part in. In 2020, the MOTIVE project will continue in collecting data from the VOYAGE project so as to build the first National Center for monitoring Graduates in Vietnam.

In this project, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van - Vice President of Thai Nguyen University plays a role as the member of Steering Committee, project Management and local coordinator. Besides, 9 lecturers and staffs coming from TNU of Economics & Business Administration, TNU of Agriculture and Forestry, Faculty of Foreign Languages also taking part in the project

In this project, TUEBA‘s students could learn how to creative an impressive personal CV, directly submit these CV to employers and being free to express their personal views about learning experience. On the other hands, the employers could access the systems’ data and choose the suitable candidates.
