The University of Melbourne, one of Australia's most prestigious universities, has in recent years increasingly broadened its collaborative efforts with other renowned international universities and attracted a significant number of international students. In Thai Nguyen Province, TNU has been actively engaging in numerous educational and training cooperation programs with Australian partners. This includes the implementation of the Australia-Vietnam Human Resource Development Program at Thai Nguyen University. Currently, Thai Nguyen University has established cooperative relationships with five Australian universities, encompassing activities in teaching, scientific research, and organizing specialized seminars.

The signing of the cooperation agreement between the Center for Quality Assessment at the University of Melbourne and TNU marks a significant step in maintaining and developing their collaborative relationship. The areas of focus include faculty exchanges, joint training programs, capacity building for Thai Nguyen University's faculty, and support in establishing a high-quality, internationally benchmarked evaluation system.

Following the signing, TNU plans to develop specific programs and work plans to execute the agreement's objectives. These include creating self-learning online training programs, conducting in-depth assessments, analyzing exam scores, and providing intensive training in evaluation for Thai Nguyen University's dedicated faculty. The aim is to position Thai Nguyen University as a model institution in evaluation within Vietnam's university system. Additionally, TNU will closely coordinate with other units under the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to implement several aspects of capacity building in evaluation for foreign language teachers, as part of the National Foreign Language Project.
