Applications are invited for 2015 New Zealand ASEAN Scholar Awards. These awards are open for postgraduate level study at one of the participating tertiary institution in New Zealand. Grants are awarded for the whole duration of the programme. Scholarships are open for the national from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Criteria for awards for Brunei and Singapore are set by Victoria University of Wellington. Application timelines can vary depending on the country

Australian Government invites applications for Endeavour Vocational Education and Training (VET) Award available for international students. The award is open to undertake vocational education at a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level in any field of study. The award provides financial support for up to 2.5 years. The award also provides support for English Language Training worth of $10,000 up to 6 months, if required. Applications will close on 30th June 2014

TAFE NSW Institutes are offering 100 scholarships for international students who have demonstrated academic merit and other achievements. These scholarships are awarded for pursuing Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree courses. Each scholarship contributes $2,000 towards the tuition fees for a TAFE NSW course. Scholarship recipients will not receive any money. The value of the scholarship will be waived on their student account during the third semester of study. The application deadline is 9 May 2014 for study in Semester 2, 2014.

Applications are invited for the 2014 round of the New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS). The NZIDRS are open for international students (except from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji) to undertake PhD study at a New Zealand university. In order to receive the scholarship, applicants must meet the requirements for direct entry into a PhD programme at a New Zealand University. The NZIDRS provides full tuition fees plus a living stipend for up to 36 months. The application deadline is 15 July 2014.

The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) are awarded to international students who wish to undertake graduate research degree studies (e.g. master’s by research, PhD or other research doctorate) at the University of Melbourne. Each year the University offers about 200 new Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRSs), of which about 150 are normally awarded to international students as MIRSs. Selection will be based on the eligibility criteria and academic merit. The application deadline is 31st May 2014.

Applications are open for Japanese Government Scholarships available for international students to pursue undergraduate studies in Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Sciences at Japanese universities. Scholarship awards will be tenable for five years from April 2015 to March 2020, including one-year preparatory education in the Japanese language and other subjects due to be provided upon arrival in Japan. For scholarship grantees majoring in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or a six-year course in pharmacy, the term of scholarship will be seven years until March 2022.
