On November 9th, 2023, Professor Keith Teague from Oklahoma State University, USA, engaged in a working session with Thai Nguyen University. The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung, President of Thai Nguyen University, leaders from the Training Department, the Department of Science, Technology & Environment, the Center for Training, Human Resource Development, and the Center for New Technology.

During the meeting, TUN expressed its ambition to launch key specializations in the near future, particularly in the field of semiconductor electronics. Professor Keith Teague offered specific content and direction, emphasizing the importance of having a clear strategic plan for the development of both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He highlighted the necessity of defining the target demographic for these programs and outlining clear career paths for students post-graduation
Additionally, he discussed the ABET accreditation (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, based on US standards) for engineering and technology programs. Notably, many universities in Vietnam are currently evaluating their engineering and technology programs according to these standards. Therefore, Professor Teague advised that Thai Nguyen University should align new engineering and technology programs with these guidelines to facilitate future evaluations and accreditations.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung, President of TNU , expressed his pleasure in welcoming Professor Keith Teague. The President conveyed his hope that Professor Teague would continue to collaborate, provide direction, and strategic advice for the development of Thai Nguyen University. Additionally, he expressed the desire for Professor Teague to serve as an expert guide in implementing ABET standards in the university's academic programs.

At the working session, The President of TNU respectfully extended an invitation to Professor Keith Teague to participate in teaching and scientific research guidance at the university. This is part of a strategic initiative to roll out key scientific research programs and to develop significant protocol projects in the near future.
