RED SUNDAY FESTIVAL AT TNU

On January 11, 2014, at 3 sites in TNU University of Agriculture and Forestry and TNU University of Technology, the Red Sunday Festival was organized by Tien Phong Newspaper in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and TNU.

This is the second time when the Festival was held in Thai Nguyen. Despite unfavorable weather, TNU students warmed atmosphere there by their youth and enthusiasm.

As of the afternoon of January 11, the Red Sunday Festival ended with 1,036 units of blood (1 unit equal 250ml) received from the students who participated in blood donation, consisted of 768 units from TNU University of Technology and 268 units from TNU University of Agriculture and Forestry.

The Red Sunday Festival was launched by Tien Phong newspaper in early 2009 in Hanoi.  Up to January 2014, it had been organized for 5 times, widely recognized by the society and spread to many places. The 6th Red Sunday occured from January 9 to 12 in 10 provinces and cities across the country including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Nghe An, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen and Hai Phong.

This was a highly meaningful and practical activity, contributed to share with patients struggling with anemia. This activity also contributed to advocacy and education for students  about the kind heart  for the community and society.
