WORKSHOP ON “ICT STANDARD IN HEALTH FOR MIDDLE AND LOW INCOME COUNTRIES
In the morning of February 12, TNU University of Information Communication and Technology (TNU-UICT) organized an international scientific workshop on the theme "Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Standard in Health for middle and low income countries".
The workshop was carried out by collaboration between TNU - UICT and South Korean professors of Health IT, Ministry of Health of Vietnam, the Academy of Science and Technology, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The workshop emphasized the role of ICT application for economic development society to catch up with the pace of development of the global economy, improve the capacity of national competitiveness, labor productivity and the trend of international integration.
In this trend, the application of ICT in the health sector is of special national interest for investment on research. The latest findings of the World Health Organization (WHO) have shown that application of ICT based on health informatics standards and mobile technology is the key solution for helping doctors to monitor patients' health conditions, as well as easily exchange experience with leading experts in the branch. Thus, the diagnosis will be more accurate, then to reduce treatment costs.
The workshop was a favorable opportunity for the university to expand international cooperation in education, scientific research and technology transfer, also to create a forum for the exchange of results, orientation of collaborative research in the application of ICT in Health between South Korea and a number of universities and research institutions in Vietnam.
