According to Decision No. 548/QD-DHTN, dated on 05/5/2014, President of Thai Nguyen University appointed Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Son, Vice Rector to be Rector of TNU College of Medicine and Pharmacy in the term 2014-2019. 

At Decision No. 549/QD-DHTN, dated on 05/5/2014, President of Thai Nguyen University reappointed Assoc. Dr. Nong Quoc Chinh to continue holding his role of being the Rector of College of Science in the term 2014-2019.

Assoc. Prof Nguyen Van Son and Assoc. Prof. Nong Quoc Chinh were the 02 first Rectors of a higher education institution under Regional University that were appointed by President of the Regional University. This was a new and unprecedented event in the appointment of the head of a training unit, which was complied with the latest Law on Higher Education.
