The scientific themes, technology transfer programs, production models were applied effectively in production and life, actively served the socio-economic  development of the localities, contributed to poverty reduction and effectively served educational tasks, such as: model ofsustainable cultivation on sloping land (SALT) which was deployed on  thousands of hectares in Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai provinces; model of replacing poppy plant by medicinal plants for helping removing farming habits of ethnic minorities and develop socio-economic situation, poverty reduction at highland districts of Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Son La, Lao Cai provinces, etc.; “System of improving rice cultivation”(SRI) model applied on 400,000 hectares of rice in 08 provinces of the Northern midland and mountainous region with the participation of over 1 million farmers and was awarded ”Golden Rice” award by the State;  transfer of iron smelting line by arc furnace (without using coke) for Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Corporation; System regulator speed for rewind machine at  Bai Bang paper mill; System of automatic mine selection for Khanh Hoa coal mine (directly under Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation); Manufacturing and supplying equipment of the tablet pressing for pharmaceutical companies Central 1, Central 2, Central 3 and many pharmaceutical companies all over Vietnam; Research on manufacturing flat knife for serving paper industry and wooden processing of wood enterprises at  Phu Tho, Hai Duong, Hoa Binh, Nghe An, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Ha Noi from 1997 to now; system of Electrostatic precipitator system for cement and metallurgy plant, portal on scientific and technological information for Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang province, program of reproductive health care for women of ethnic minorities in the Northern mountainous area.

Some scientific and technological activities at Thai Nguyen University

Over 20 years, scientific and technological activities of Thai Nguyen University have achieved considerable progress, contributing to improve quality of staff training, promote  economy, education, culture and social development in the region and the whole country. Many groups and individuals have been conferred awards on science and technology. Typically, 01 female lecturer of Thai Nguyen University received Kovalevskaia award (2012). Annually, 20-30 subjects were awarded ”Young Scientific talent of Vietnam”. Additionally, Thai Nguyen University has been awarded 3 times by the Ministry of Education and Training for the achievements in scientific and technological activities.
