TNU WELCOMES US EMBASSY DELEGATION
On 17 March 2014, the delegation of US Embassy in Hanoi headed by Mr. Terry White - Public Affairs Officer - paid a visit to Thai Nguyen University.
The delegation had a series of activities in TNU, namely: the film show, Fulbright scholarship introduction, meeting with TNU leaders and CFORD staff.
Particularly, the delegation had presence of Mr. Eric Neudel and Mrs. Alison Gilkey, two famous editors and producers of many PBS programs. In this visit, they brought about their emotional film: Lives worth living – A historical documentary film about Disability Rights Movement and a biography about one man’s struggle to survive. A film show attracts hundreds of TNU students and staff officials.
At the meeting with TNU leaders, Mr. Terry White was glad to see the recent productive cooperation between TNU and universities in the US. He affirmed to continue supporting TNU in providing ELT scholars and fellows, organizing conferences, etc. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dang Van Minh suggested a number of areas for cooperation between the two sides, in which TNU proposed to have support to develop a Master program in TESOL, and to cooperate in launching projects serving ethnic minorities and disadvantaged people in the Northern Midland and Moutainous Region.
