The 20^th Founding Celebration of Thai Nguyen University, a tradition that can tie everyone together as part of the academic community, was held last April 4, 2014 which marked another academic milestone in the annals of this regional university. 

            During the Anniversary Ceremony, the university ground was filled with distinguished guests from the different government and non-government offices from the northern mountainous regions of Vietnam and from foreign countries namely: the USA, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines, South Korea, Brunei, China, Germany to mention a few. I, together with the university officials, faculty members and staff and students, graciously welcomed and gave a red carpet reception to our distinguished guests. The celebration were highlighted by the presentation of notable accomplishments of the university for the past years and the granting of Labor Medal of Honors marking prestige and honor for Thai Nguyen University’s contributions towards the development of the country over the past few years. The medal that TNU received is an expression of hope that the academic community will be able to sustain and will take the example of President Ho Chi Minh in their daily academic work and life. This was followed by the conferment of honorary doctoral degree to foreign nationals who have contributed significantly to the academic growth and development of Thai Nguyen University.

            Exhibition of products and merchandise from various TNU member units, public and private agencies and companies were showcased at the facade of the TNU Main Building.  People from all walks of life from the city and nearby towns flocked to Thai Nguyen University to watch the exhibits.

            Nonetheless, after this grand celebration, we will start a brand new chapter of TNU’s challenges…a brand new time, for tomorrow is here and yesterday is over!
