RMIT’S WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT On sharing experiences in improving skills for lecturers who wish to study and do research abroad.

The experience sharing workshop titled “Improving skills for lecturers who wish to study and do research abroad” aims to support Vietnamese lecturers in developing the necessary skills to succeed in an international academic learning environment, provide financial solutions, language support, academic advice, and share experiences from experienced lecturers. Administrative procedures, family support, and career development opportunities after completing the fellowship program will also be discussed. By participating in the sharing session, lecturer attendees will be equipped with important knowledge and skills to overcome challenges and take advantages of opportunities to study and research abroad.

RMIT University of Australia will organize this workshop at Thai Nguyen University with the following contents:

1.   Purposes of the workshop

  • To provide information on funding sources, scholarships and ways to seek for financial support for study and research abroad.
  • To guide lecturers on how to prepare applications, write research plans and develop necessary research skills.
  • To provide information and support on visa application procedures, necessary documents and offer possible solutions to support lecturers' families during their time studying abroad.
  • To create opportunities for lecturers to connect with international experts, scholars and researchers and join in global research networks.

2.   Expected outcomes

Lecturer attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the sources of scholarships and funding, as well as how to apply to receive scholarships from RMIT University of Australia.
  • Prepare application documents and research plans to meet the requirements of universities in globe.
  • Connect with international experts and scientists and expand research cooperation network.
  • Master the visa application process and related administrative procedures, helping to reduce time and difficulty in preparing documents for postgraduate study at foreign schools.
  • Get family support solutions and balance between work and study abroad.

3. Participants

Lecturers and researchers who wish to apply for a doctoral training course or PhD students enrolling in the doctoral training program at RMIT University, Australia.

4.   Time and mode

The workshop will take place in-person on September 11th, 2024 at Meeting Room 1 – Thai Nguyen University.

5. Information on scholarships

RMIT University, Australia provides additional scholarships for PhD candidates who are holding 89- Vietnamese government’s scholarships, including:

  •  $1,130.00 per month
  • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of your stay in Australia (Single/Couple/Family).

At the same time, a number of full-funded scholarships are awarded to excellent candidates who fully meet the school's criteria and requirements.
