Swiss Embassy Delegation visits Thai Nguyen University

On February 28th, the delegation from the Swiss Embassy, led by Mr. Aldo de Luca, the Deputy Head of Misison of Switzerland to Vietnam, paid a visit to Thai Nguyen University.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Van, Vice President of Thai Nguyen University, warmly welcomed the Embassy’s delegation. Thai Nguyen University is a prestigious regional institution, ranking among the top five multi-level universities in Vietnam. The university is committed to developing high-quality human resources and contributing to the sustainable development of the country, particularly in the northern midland and mountainous regions. These areas are culturally diverse, rich in resources, and ethnically varied. Thai Nguyen University places a strong emphasis on community engagement, promoting education, and enhancing the capacity of women, especially those from ethnic minorities and mountainous areas. The institution has initiated numerous projects and activities aimed at fostering solidarity and sustainable development in the region, empowering women and girls, and advancing gender equality. For projects funded by the Swiss Embassy, Thai Nguyen University pledges to continue its efforts towards the sustainable development of the northern midland and mountainous regions, focusing on minority communities while also enhancing the quality of education to meet contemporary demands.

Through the introduction from the Swiss Embassy in Vietnam, Thai Nguyen University expressed its desire to collaborate with Swiss higher education institutions and research institutes. The university aims to develop undergraduate and postgraduate programs, scientific research, faculty exchanges, student exchanges, and academic seminars through this partnership.

During the meeting, the Deputy Ambassador and the visiting delegation engaged in exchanges with Thai Nguyen University students, discussing Swiss educational policies relevant to Vietnamese students, as well as opportunities for study and employment in Switzerland for these students.
